Pietra Santa Wine Dinner – August 23

Pietra Santa Wine Dinner – August 23

Posted on

Please join us on Thursday, August 23 when we welcome winemaker Alessio Carli and introduce the wines of Pietra Santa to Pittsburgh!

While the name of the Winery and winemaker might make you believe this is an Italian Wine Dinner, this is not the case! Pietra Santa (Italian for Sacred Stone) is located 25 miles from Monterey Bay in the Central Coast on the San Andreas Fault. The soil is rich with granite and limestone – decreasing the yield but adding distinctive flavors!

Alessio studied winemaking in Italy and became a winemaker in Tuscany before coming to the United States in 1990.  He has worked exclusively at Pietra Santa since 1998.  It is always a treat to meet a winemaker – especially one with an accent – but it is a special treat when you are able to sample wines never released before in PA.  This is an affordable and fun dinner!  We hope you can join us!
