Here are The Carlton’s Quick Picks for the week of June 14th.

Remember, you can always find more events on the Post-Gazette’s Event Calendar as well as the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership’s Calendar.

These are just a few of our favorites!

A Salute to America. From the 17th-20th come to Heinz Hall to raise the flag for a patriotic salute to America with Marvin and well-known Western Pennsylvania native and musician, B.E. Taylor. This Pittsburgh premiere presents classic American songs including “God Bless America,” “This Land is Your Land,” and “The Star Spangled Banner” along with Taylor’s original orchestration, a moving rendition of The Pledge of Allegiance. The Pittsburgh Orchestra.

Free Walking Tour. Friday, June 18th meet in PNC’s new Triangle Park at Fifth and Liberty Avenues for a FREE one-hour guided walking tour, compliments of the Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation, which offers tours May through September with a different tour each month. In June, the Market Square Area Walking Tour is offered, focusing on the redevelopment of Market Square and it’s efforts to incorporate historic preservation, as well as “green” building principles. Father’s Day. Don’t forget to honor your father and fathers around the world on Sunday, June 20th. Bring your dad to the Carlton Restaurant for a great meal to celebrate this holiday!
