Alonzo King’s LINE Ballet: Signs and Wonders is playing tonight and tomorrow at the August Wilson Center. This San Francisco-based dance company colors outside the lines to bring forth works that re-imagine, reinvigorate and reinvent ballet. Originally commissioned by the Dance Theatre of Harlem, Signs and Wonders incorporates indigenous drumming and vocals from a myriad of African tribes, as it examines the relationship between contemporary ballet and African musical traditions.
