On Monday, May 18 we welcome Winemaster David Whitehouse for a Wine Dinner celebrating the great offerings from Trefethen Vineyard! Trefethen is a family vineyard that was founded by John Trefethen in 1973 on the old Eschol Ranch purchased by his parents. Click below to hear me speak on this Wine Dinner!
In 1975, David Whitehouse Jr., joined John and they’ve been producing great wines ever since. We have had many great and famous winemakers visit The Carlton, however, never have we had a winemaker that has been awarded with a “Best in the World” by the World Wine Olympics! The 1976 Trefethen Chardonnay received that award in the famous Paris competition! Come taste the most recent offerings of a winemaker who still pours his heart and soul into the terroir!
We have recently reviewed our “wines in the cellar” and have added 137 “aged” selections to our list!! From the 1989 Ridge “Monte Bello” to the 1981 Chateau Mouton, our award winning list just got better!! Come and savor these great selections….before they are gone!
Last night, April 29, we celebrated Wine Festival Week with a Wine Dinner featuring the wonderful, highly rated wines from Ramey Wine Cellars! Guests enjoyed five different Chardonnays (three rated between 93 & 95 points), a “93” rated Syrah and three huge, highly rated and allocated Cabernets! Click below to hear me speak about this Wine Dinner!
David Ramey is one of my favorite winemakers and I was so glad to finally feature his wines on a wine festival eve! A UC Davis graduate, Ramey made award winning wine at Chateau Petrus, Matanzas Creek, Chalk Hill, Dominus and Rudd before founding his own winery in 1996. He is all about authentic hand crafted wines that are among the most respected in the world! If you haven’t tasted these wines – you are missing out on one of life’s true pleasures!
Thanks again to David and all of our guests for joining us on this very special evening!
