Free Friday Walking Tour (Fourth Avenue & PPG Place)

This Friday, August 13th 2010 from Noon – 1:00 p.m.

Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation wants to take you on a free one-hour guided walking tour of Fourth Avenue & PPG Place.
Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation give a tour every month from May through September, so join them this month and explore Pittsburgh.

The Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation works throughout Pittsburgh to:
Identify and Save historically significant places.
Revitalize historic neighborhoods, towns, and urban areas.
Preserve
historic farms and historic designed landscapes; and
Educate
people about the Pittsburgh region’s rich architectural heritage.

Pirates vs. Phillies. Your Pittsburgh Pirates take on the Philadelphia Phillies Thursday, July 1st- Sunday, July 4th.  Visit PNC Park to cheer on the home team. Thursday is free T-Shirt day!

Free Friday Walking Tours. A FREE one-hour guided walking tour, compliments of the Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation, which offers tours May through September with a different tour each month. In July, you can explore the Penn-Liberty Cultural District. For more information visit PHLF.

Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta. The 33rd annual Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta begins Saturday, July 3 through Sunday, July 4. The tri-state comes alive in one fun-filled and FREE festival of air, land and water entertainment. Featuring skydiving, B.A.S.E. jumping and paragliding by the extreme Redbull Airforce Team. And, Regatta hosts the Powerboat Superleague North American Championships! July 4, see the the EQT “Flashes of Freedom” Fireworks Fantasia, renown as one of the best pyrotechnic displays in the country… plus, music for every age and appetite.  North Shore and Point State Park… it’s the summer’s largest and FREE family extravaganza!
