BNY Mellon Grand Classics: MAHLER’S THIRD. Visit Heinz Hall June 11th-13th for this amazing show! Manfred Honeck, conductor Jane Irwin, mezzo-soprano Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh Children’s Festival Chorus of Pittsburgh Mahler: Symphony No. 3 Conductor Bruno Walter described Mahler’s Symphony No. 3 as “nature transformed into sound.” Indeed, the first half is all about winter being replaced by summer, alpine meadows, and animals in the forest. Angels sing and the heavens open up before us. Mahler once said, “A symphony must be like the world—it must contain everything.” In the Third Symphony, his inexhaustible imagination proves his point. Three Rivers Art Festval. Sunday is the last nay to visit Beautiful Point State Park and the surrounding city blocks  as it gets an artistic makeover for ten days for the annual Three Rivers Arts Festival. Artists, musicians and vendors celebrate the art in Pittsburgh and invite you to join! Don’t miss this Pittsburgh tradition!

Mt. Washington. Looking for a low maintenance but memorable way to spend a summer day? Directly across the Monongahela River from downtown Pittsburgh is 367-foot-high Mount Washington, the best place to go for a view of Pittsburgh and the three rivers. Almost everyone who comes to Pittsburgh ends up on Mt. Washington to take in the view. Grandview Avenue follows the entire length of the hill overlooking Pittsburgh. Two of the oldest inclines can connect you from the city to the view. The Monongahela incline carries residents and tourists between Mount Washington and Station Square shopping complex. Pittsburgh Public Theater Mix @ Six. Thursday, June 3rd visit Pittsburgh Public Theater’s MIX @ SIX for “Art”. It is geared towards providing young professionals with a networking opportunity while connecting them to Pittsburgh Public Theater and the Cultural District. It is held six times a year on the Thursday night prior to the Opening Night of each performance. Beginning at 6:00 p.m., patrons can enjoy a pre-show party with complimentary hors d’oeuvres, complimentary Miller* products and Starbucks coffee tastings, as well as other special offerings from local groups and businesses.

Segway Gold Triangle Tours. On June 5th see Pittsburgh in a whole new way, on a Segway! With basic instruction, you’ll be able to glide effortlessly along downtown sidewalks and riverfront walks to see lots of sights in a relatively short time. Three Rivers Art Festival. Beautiful Point State Park and the surrounding city blocks get an artistic makeover for ten days this June for the annual Three Rivers Arts Festival. Artists, musicians and vendors celebrate the art in Pittsburgh and invite you to join from June 4th-13th!

Shadyside Art Festival on Walnut Street. From May 22nd-23rd Walnut Street in Shadyside will transform into a living, breathing art gallery with 150 exhibitors from around the nation. Like all Howard Alan events, the Shadyside Art Festival is a juried show, which means each participating artist is hand-selected from hundreds of applicants to ensure a first-class festival with only the highest quality, original artwork. All of the work on display is available for purchase, and with prices ranging from $15 earrings to $50 prints to $20,000 sculptures, there is always something for everyone.
