Truchard Vineyards Wine Dinner

Posted on

Fall Wine Dinners are upon us and we are kicking them off with a very special dinner featuring Truchard Estate Vineyards!  Join us Tuesday, September 21 when Anthony Truchard II from Napa Valley’s Truchard Estate Vineyards hosts our opening Wine Dinner!  Truchard Vineyard began in the early 70’s when Anthony’s parents purchased a 20 acre abandoned Prune Orchard in the Carneros region of Napa Valley.

Today, they own 400 acres, farm 270 of them and sell grapes to 20 premier Napa Valley Wineries.  Since 1989, they have also been producing their own estate wines – seven of which we will be sampling to Chef Mark’s cuisine.  We begin with a 92 point Chardonnay and feature two comparison courses with wines from our cellar, including the “91” rated Cabernet from the 1999 vintage!  Please join us for this great evening!

The Carlton’s Quick Picks

Here are The Carlton’s Quick Picks for the week of September 6th.

Remember, you can always find more events on the Post-Gazette’s Event Calendar as well as the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership’s Calendar.

These are just a few of our favorites!

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Atlanta Braves
This Monday, September 6 at 1:35 p.m. Come with friends and family to PNC Park at North Shore to watch the Pirates play the Braves!

Broken Social Scene
Broken Social Scene is coming to the Byham Theater, on Wednesday, September 8th 2010 at 8 p.m.  Tickets cost $32.75 – $37.75.
Broken Social Scene is a Canadian indie rock band, a musical collective including as few as six and as many as nineteen members, formed in 1999 by Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning.
For their latest album, May’s Forgiveness Rock Record, the band decamped to Soma Studios in Chicago and Giant Studio in Toronto to work with one of their heroes, Tortoise/Sea and Cake drummer John McEntire, who punched holes in the textural haze and coaxed the band into delivering their most assertive, forthright performances to date.
Visit the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust website for more information.

Kathy Griffin
If you like comedy, then you won’t want to miss Kathy Griffin this Thursday, September 9th 2010 at 7:30 p.m. at the Heinz Hall for the Performing Arts.
Multiple HBO and Bravo specials weren’t enough!
Catch double Emmy award winning Kathy Griffin live in her true element. She has more stories, more dish, more of what she shouldn’t say but you know you want to hear. Come with an open mind and have a good laugh!
