Fiddlesticks Family Concerts: What Makes Music?

You won’t want to miss it, this Saturday, October 30th 2010 at 11:15 a.m.!
For just $16.00-$19.00, see Fiddlesticks Family Concerts at Heinz Hall.

Lawrence Loh, conductor; Katy Shackleton Williams, vocalist. Melody, rhythm and harmony make music. Like an architect designs a building, composers create music with these essential building blocks. Watch a musical skyscraper take shape with Edvard Grieg’s Morning Mood, Strauss’ Radetzky March and music from Stravinsky’s The Firebird. Beginning at 10:00am before the concert, children may meet PSO musicians, learn about stories and dances in the music you’re about to hear.

For more information, call The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra at 412-392-4900.

Time for Wine

Celebrate this Halloween with a wine that all of your party guest will want to sink their teeth into.

That’s right, Vampire Wine!

“Having waited a full seven years, the vampires’ rootstock now has yielded wonderful tight small clusters of grapes that have been skillfully blended by vampire winemakers to produce phenomenal wines — smooth and well rounded, with forward fresh fruit – that have been aged in both French and American Oak Barrels. Sip the Blood of the Vine and enjoy!”

Enjoy one of the many varietals available from Vampire Wines, and give your Halloween party guests a truly wicked wine that is a real treat!
