Gary Eberle Wine Dinner – Oct. 26

Pittsburgh’s own Gary Eberle returns Tuesday, October 26 to host a Wine Dinner featuring his award winning wines! Gary made full use of his football scholarship at Penn State to study biology and later did graduate work in cellular genetics at LSU where a professor introduced him to the magical world of food and wine.   While working on his doctorate at UC Davis, Gary realized the untapped potential of the Paso Robles region, and opened Eberle Winery there in 1983!

Today, Gary produces 25,000 cases of wine each year and Eberle Winery remains one of the highest award winning wineries in the U.S.  We hope that you can help to make Gary’s homecoming special and we know that you will enjoy his wines paired with Chef Mark’s cuisine.

Stan has pulled out all the stops for his first dinner in our new digs!

All of the wines for this evening are Tre Bicchieri Award Winning Wines – comparable to a 95+ rated Wine in the United States!  Less than 1% of all Italian Wines rated ever receive this designation – so these are truly the best of “the best!”  Friday evening dinners with Stan are a tradition that we hope will continue at The Carlton for many years to come!

Fall Wine Dinners are upon us and we are kicking them off with a very special dinner featuring Truchard Estate Vineyards!  Join us Tuesday, September 21 when Anthony Truchard II from Napa Valley’s Truchard Estate Vineyards hosts our opening Wine Dinner!  Truchard Vineyard began in the early 70’s when Anthony’s parents purchased a 20 acre abandoned Prune Orchard in the Carneros region of Napa Valley.

Today, they own 400 acres, farm 270 of them and sell grapes to 20 premier Napa Valley Wineries.  Since 1989, they have also been producing their own estate wines – seven of which we will be sampling to Chef Mark’s cuisine.  We begin with a 92 point Chardonnay and feature two comparison courses with wines from our cellar, including the “91” rated Cabernet from the 1999 vintage!  Please join us for this great evening!
