Talbott Vineyards Wine Dinner – April 11

Posted on

Robert and Audrey Talbott settled in Carmel, CA in 1950 and started the Robert Talbott Tie Co.  Today, Talbott clothing stores are everywhere and son Robb – in addition to running the clothing empire, operates a super successful winery specializing in Chardonnay and Pinot Noir!  Please join us Monday, April 11 when we sample three upscale Chardonnays and three Pinot Noirs from Talbott’s Central Coast Winery.

Although some of the selections are just released and as of yet un-rated, we have three wines that Robert Parker has scored over 90 points!  The Carlton has been a big supporter of Talbott wines for many years and I personally have consumed more of their Kali Hart Chardonnay (named for their daughter) than perhaps anyone else on the planet!  When you join us for this special Wine Dinner, you will understand the addictive qualities of their spectacular products!

Strolling Wine Tasting – April 1

Posted on

On Friday, April 1, we return with our second Strolling Wine Tasting which will feature vendors pouring over 50 selections accompanied by sumptuous Hors D’Oeuvres. This is a participatory event – you rate the wines and I purchase the top offerings and put them on our list.

Cost is $49 per person for this mini Wine Festival from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Many folks stayed for a light dinner after our inaugural event in September – and all who attended raved and asked that we do it again!  April Fools Day is the perfect opportunity to taste so many wines – and get a little foolish! Also, a great night for a downtown sleepover!

Joe Barsotti Selections Wine Dinner – Nov. 11

Posted on

Join us Thursday, November 11 for a wine dinner featuring Joe Barsotti selections including two from another “Pittsburgher” who is following his dream of becoming a Napa Valley Winemaker – Nick Floulis!

Born in Pittsburgh, Nick attended Pittsburgh Culinary Institute and was a Manager at the Original Fish Market.  His family owns Zorba on Smithfield Street!  After a stint working at St. Supéry Winery, Nick is now producing a high-end Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa Valley under the label of Pushback!  Nick is considered one of the hot young winemakers in Napa Valley!  In addition to Nick’s delicious wines, we will be sampling a “93” rated Chardonnay from Robert Young and two delicious “organic” Zinfandels from Joe Barsotti’s impressive portfolio!  It will certainly be interesting hearing about Nick’s journey and the challenges he has faced in Napa to produce wines under his own label!
